About Christina
A native of Islesford, ME, pianist Christina Spurling earned the Master of Music degree in collaborative piano performance from the Longy School of Music of Bard College in Cambridge, MA. As a Longy Presidential Scholar, Christina studied accompanying, chamber music and opera with Brian Moll. She has served as rehearsal pianist for the Boston Opera Collaborative, the Bangor Symphony Orchestra and the Bagaduce Chorale. She performed with the Cape Ann Symphony, as accompanist for the Newburyport Candlelight Chorale, Acadia Choral Society and as a soloist with the Bagaduce Chorale.
With a passion for community and musical collaboration, Christina founded the Quietside Chamber Music Festival in the summer of 2018 on Mount Desert Island, featuring local Maine-based musicians. The series also includes a youth ensemble which she facilitates and coaches.
Christina is a piano instructor and collaborative pianist at Colby College, music director at the Somesville Union Meeting House UCC and teaches piano from her home studio on Mount Desert Island.
